ATS GPT Platform
AI-powered resume analysis built around a multi-provider AI architecture for scalable, user-specific evaluation.

Context
The Challenge
Early versions of ATS GPT relied entirely on a single shared platform-level Groq API key to power all resume analysis. This created severe bottlenecks: rate limits caused every user to compete for the same request budget, the free-tier quota could be exhausted entirely, and it fundamentally limited scalability. Furthermore, without a fallback, quota exhaustion became a raw, unexplained error for the user. The application's availability was dangerously coupled to a single external resource it didn't control. That coupling had to be broken.
Process
The development of ATS GPT required a structural transition from a monolithic API architecture to a highly scalable, user-centric routing system. The engineering focus centered on breaking down API bottlenecks, enforcing secure credential isolation on the server, and ensuring high availability regardless of global rate limits. By decoupling the core analysis engine from a single shared quota, the platform was transformed into a robust, multi-tenant environment. This approach not only eliminated hard failures during peak traffic but also empowered users with total control over their AI execution parameters, ensuring a seamless and private experience when evaluating highly sensitive resume data.
Architecture redesign
Decided to move away from a monolithic shared key to a user-specific AI provider architecture where each authenticated user has independent configuration.
AI routing layer
Built a centralized AI Router that decides, per request, which provider (Groq/Gemini) and which credentials to use based on the authenticated user.
Secure isolation
Implemented server-side encryption for user API keys. Credentials never touch the frontend after being saved, ensuring no cross-user interference.
Graceful fallback
Engineered rate-limit detection to prompt users to connect their own keys when shared quotas drop, rather than throwing hard errors.
Project Features
AI-Powered Parsing
Extracts and evaluates resume content against job requirements with structured scoring.
User-Specific API Isolation
Users can bring their own AI provider key (Groq/Gemini), stored with server-side encryption.
ATS Compatibility Scoring
Evaluates keywords, structure, and experience alignment based on real ATS logic.

Conclusion
ATS GPT isn't just another AI chatbot. It is a specialized resume intelligence system built for production reliability. By decoupling the application's availability from a single API quota and implementing robust, secure credential management, the platform can sustainably scale while giving users total control over their AI execution environment.
